BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A long running local appliance store has successfully switched hands to another family owned northwest company.

Lehmann’s Appliance in Bellingham has closed after 84 years with the retirement of owner Terry Lehmann.

As of yesterday the store now belongs to the Snohomish based appliance retailer Judd & Black.

Rachael Sylte with Judd and Black says the transition has gone well so far.

Like Lehmann’s, Judd & Black has been family owned and operated for three generations.

They have been in business for 74 years and have five locations including one in Skagit County.

The former Lehmann’s Appliance location will be their first store in Whatcom County.

Many of Lehmann’s Appliance employees will be staying on with the new owners.
