Man faces vehicular homicide for twins’ death

OAK HARBOR, Wash. – A man involved in a Halloween car crash near Anacortes on SR 20 that killed one teenage girl is now facing two charges of vehicular homicide after the death of the girl’s twin sister.

Trooper Mark Francis says 17-year-old Janeah Goheen of Oak Harbor died instantly at the scene.

Her twin sister Janesah and a friend were injured.

Janesah died from her injuries on Monday.

Ira Blackstock of Oak Harbor faces two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.

Francis says Blackstock showed signs of impairment at the scene.

Troopers say Blackstock accelerated too quickly going through a curve near the intersection of Miller and Gibralter Road on SR 20.

He lost control and crossed the center line, striking the twins’ car going southbound.

Blackstock later turned himself in.
