Tacoma Rainiers pitcher Taijuan Walker has been named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week. The league office made the announcement Monday.
Walker earned wins in each of his two starts for the week of August 19th. He struck out a combined 15 batters, while limiting opponents to just one run in 11 innings of work.
The right-hander is 5-and-3 on the year with a 3.61 ERA over 11 starts in his first Triple-A season. Walker is the 5th different Rainiers player to garner a weekly league award and the fourth to grab Pitcher of the week honors joining Jeremy Bonderman, Andrew Carraway and James Paxton in the honor.
