Mariners recall Luetge from Tacoma, Bonderman DFA’d

The Seattle Mariners have recalled pitcher Lucas Luetge from Triple-A Tacoma and designated pitcher Jeremey Bonderman for assignment. M’s General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced the roster moves Monday.

Luetge will be in uniform for tonight’s game versus the Boston Red Sox. The Mariners are currently listed at TBA for Thursday’s starting pitcher in the series finale vs. the Red Sox.

This will be Luetge’s third stint with Seattle this season. In 11 appearances with the Mariners this season is 0-1 with a 7.15 ERA In 22 games with the Tacoma Rainiers, Luetge was 0-0 with 1 save, striking out 45 in 31.0 innings while allowing just 16 walks.

Bonderman was 1-3 with a 4.93 ERA in seven starts with the Mariners since being selected from Tacoma June 2. He signed with Seattle as a minor league free agent on Jan. 9, 2013.

Seattle now has 10 days to trade, release or outright the contract of Bonderman to the minors
