OLYMPIA, Wash. – Medical marijuana advocates are hoping the Washington State Liquor Control Board won’t be put in charge of regulating their industry.
Dozens of protesters turned out at the capitol Wednesday for a rally that was organized by the Cannabis Action Coalition.
State lawmakers are considering legislation that would allow the Liquor Control Board to study how integration of the medical marijuana and recreational marijuana industries would work.
Final rules on marijuana regulation and sales are scheduled to be released early next month.
