BELLINGHAM, Wash. – People are opening their hearts and their wallets to honor the memory of a popular Bellingham teen who died in a car accident.
An account has been set up in Hannah Dashiell’s honor to benefit students interested in pursuing a career in the medical field.
Donations can be made to the Hannah Dashiell Benefit Fund at any Peoples Bank location.

A gofundme.com page set up to raise $1,100 for a memorial bench in Hannah’s honor quickly gathered more than its goal.
The page raised $1,210 from 34 people in 4 hours on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The bench will be located in Barkley Village next to the Haggen grocery store where Hannah worked.
Hannah’s funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 11, at First Congressional Church in Bellingham. A celebration of life event is planned at Squalicum High School early next week.
