Motorcyclist struck by lightning on I-5

SEATTLE, Wash. – A motorcyclist is recovering at a Seattle hospital after he was struck by lightning while riding along Interstate 5 in Chehalis.

Washington State Patrol troopers say the padding inside the rider’s helmet was blown out by the lightning strike.

The 60-year-old man was reportedly conscious but disoriented as he was taken to Centralia Hospital.

He was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center, where he’s listed in satisfactory condition.
