Mount Baker falls to Freeman in 1A State Championship

Marcus Goldbach and Max Laib combined for 5 touchdowns to lead the Freeman Scotties to a 31-13 victory over the Mount Baker Mountaineers in the 1A Football State Championship.

Goldbach opened the game with an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. He scored two second half rushing touchdowns and finished with 170 yards on 23 carries. Max Laib scored two first half touchdowns to help build Freeman’s 19-13 halftime lead.

Mount Baker was paced by Izaiha Schwinden and Liam Short, who combined for 210 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
