MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The city of Mount Vernon is considering putting a halt on retail marijuana businesses.
City council members will vote today on whether to enact a six month moratorium on marijuana shops as well as businesses that would grow and process marijuana for retail sale.
Recreational use of marijuana was legalized in Washington in November’s elections, but retail pot shops aren’t expected to open for business until next spring at the earliest.
