BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Whatcom Humane Society has moved into a larger, more comfortable shelter, making life easier on homeless pets.
The new shelter on Division Street near Hannegan Road in Bellingham consolidates the two former shelters.
Laura Clark with the Humane Society says the 19,000 square foot building has separate rooms for every kind of pet.
The new shelter is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 6:00 and on Sunday and Monday from 11:00 to 5:00.
Clark says the new hours will hopefully increase adoptions and help more people who are looking for missing pets.
