‘No on 522′ raises record campaign money

Metro

SEATTLE, Wash. – Fundraising for a campaign to oppose a statewide ballot measure is at a record level, according to the “Seattle Times.”

Opponents of Initiative 522, which would require labeling for food produced entirely or partly with genetic engineering, have raised nearly $17.2  million.

That breaks the record set in 2011 by opponents of the initiative to privatize liquor sales.

The “Yes on I-522″ campaign has raised about $4.8 million.
