DEMING, Wash. – Some three hundred members of the Nooksack Tribe may soon be non-members.
A tribal judge decided earlier this week to allow the process of dis-enrolling 306 members to move forward.
Moreno Peralta is one of those members about to be kicked out.
He says tribal officials are discriminating against them.
Those dis-enrolled will have the right to reapply and have a hearing before a tribal judge.
Peralta fears a vote to remove a tribal constitutional amendment next month will make it impossible for himself and other dis-enrolled members to reapply.
