The recent dry weather is allowing state transportation crews to clear mudslides that closed part of the North Cascades Highway over the weekend.
A 24-mile stretch of Highway 20 between two passes was closed after heavy rain caused mud and rock to spill down onto the road.
Dave Chesson with the Washington State Department of Transportation says the highway is estimated to reopen Thursday at noon.
Until then, the highway is closed from 10 miles west of Rainy Pass to 9 miles east of Washington pass.
