BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Both Washington and Oregon farmers have partnered with Fred Meyer this month for a food and cash drive.
Becky Elias with the Washington State Department of Agriculture says the drive benefits Feeding America Affiliates, Food Lifeline, Second Harvest and the Oregon Food Bank.
The summertime is when families with children need the most help, but it’s also when donations drop because people give more around the holidays.
The goal is to collect $100,000 and 100,000 lbs of food.
