BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Port of Bellingham is allowing people to get an up-close look at the fireworks at Bellingham Bay this Fourth of July by opening the old Georgia Pacific wharf area.
Port Commissioner Mike McAuley says the wharf has never been open for viewing the fireworks show before.
People will have to park off-site and walk in.
The gates will be open at 9:30 p.m.
McAuley is looking for 20 volunteers to help people get safely on and off of the site.
Those wishing to volunteer can call 360-201-7199.
