MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Drivers can expect one more 12 hour detour at the I-5 Skagit River bridge starting tonight.
The contractor will be completing the retrofitting of the steel overhead trusses.
The height clearance will be eighteen feet across all lanes.
Washington State Department of Transportation spokesperson Dave Chesson says the contractor is finishing earlier than expected.
He says drivers should expect the heaviest traffic between 5:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Delays are expected last 20 minutes or more during that time.
Both directions of the bridge will be closed starting at 8:00 p.m. tonight.
