BELLINGHAM, Wash. – PeaceHealth needs to cut roughly $130 million across its northwest network, but Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham will not be hit too hard by the budget cuts.
Chief Mission Officer Nancy Steiger says they need to reduce costs by about $10 million locally.
About ten to twenty positions are affected locally.
Most of the $10 million is already accounted for in operational and equipment cuts.
The area most impacted by cuts is Vancouver, Washington, where revenue has fallen in recent years because of lower traffic through those hospitals.
PeaceHealth employs 2,700 people in Bellingham.
