BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Proposed plans for redeveloping Bellingham’s waterfront have reached a milestone.
The Bellingham Planning Commission voted unanimously last week to recommend that the Bellingham City Council approve the plans.
Planning Commissioner Garrett O’Brien says city staff have spent hundreds of hours on the waterfront plan and it has been well analyzed.
The Port of Bellingham and the city are planning an information fair for July 17 and waterfront walking tours for people to learn more about the plan.
The council will consider the plan through the summer and early fall, with the goal of completing the work before the end of the year.
