BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Applications are flooding in for marijuana licenses in just the first week.
Kim Schmanke with the Department of Revenue says as of Monday, they’ve sent off 906 completed applications for the state Liquor Control Board to review.
In Whatcom County, the majority of the applications to date are for joint producer and processor licenses.
Only four businesses, all within the City of Bellingham, have applied to be retailers.
Schmanke says the Liquor Control Board will post the names and addresses of applicants on their website each week as more applications are completed.
Licenses will be issued by either February or March.
