EVERETT,Wash. – Washington State Patrol Trooper Sean O’Connell is being remembered as a family man who loved his work, and for his “wacky sense of humor.”
About 2,200 people turned out for Thursday’s funeral service at Comcast Arena in Everett to honor O’Connell, who was killed last week while on duty in Skagit County.
Before the funeral, a motorcade of about 350 police cars proceeded to the arena from near Arlington.
Thirty-eight year old O’Connell was a 16-year veteran of the Washington State Patrol.
