BELLINGHAM, Wash. – More marine industries on the waterfront and more recreation and access to the bay are some of the ideas people offered at a public hearing yesterday on redevelopment plans for Bellingham’s waterfront.
Many people told the Bellingham Port Commission that the plan should include a more thorough cleanup of the site and guarantee family-wage jobs.
The Bellingham City Council held its own public hearing on the waterfront master plan earlier this month.
The council has scheduled a series of work sessions to help people learn more about the plan, with the next one set for September 9.
