OLYMPIA, Wash. – Thurston County authorities say human remains found near the Nisqually Reservation were those of an adult woman.
Sheriff’s deputies say the woman had been “dismembered by human means.”
Officials say the woman had light-pigmented skin but her identity and cause of death haven’t been determined.
The remains were found earlier this week after a dog dragged home part of a leg bone he found in a nearby wooded area.
