According to CBSsports.com baseball insider Jon Heyman, the Seattle Mariners will extend a one-year qualifying offer to first baseman/DH Kendrys Morales, but reports say Morales will turn down the qualifying offer as he’s hoping to hit it bigger in a market full of cash. The qualifying offer is expected to be about $13.8 million. MLB.com first reported the Mariners are likely to extend the offer.
But, Morales, who is weeks away from free agency, apparently is reluctant from locking himself in with a big deal with the M’s before seeing the market.
