Report: Tim Wallach to interview for Mariners managerial job

According to a report on CBSSports.com Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach will interview for the Seattle Mariners managerial job. CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman atributes the news to unnamed sources.

Wallach, a former MLB star has been involved as a minor league manager or major league coach in the Dodger organization for the last 10 years. according to the story he has also interviewed for the Detroit tigers managerial opening.

The story cites 4 other candidates for the Mariners job after former skipper Eric Wedge decided not to return when his contract expired after the 2013 season. Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, A’s Bench coach Chip Hale, Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon and Padres bench coach Rick Renteria are listed as candidates in the report.
