LYNDEN, Wash. – Lynden’s Ninth Annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeo is tonight and tomorrow night.

Justin Rumford is a third-generation rodeo cowboy and the 2012 PRCA Clown of the Year.

As a rodeo clown, he will be in the arena helping keep the bull riders safe, but says his main goal is to pop out of the barrels and make people laugh.

Rumford says many consider what he does dangerous, but he says he always feels safe because the barrels they use are made with aircraft material and padded to protect them from the bulls.

Some of the top fifteen bull riders in the world will be at the rodeo, along with a host of other events including barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping and bareback and saddle bronco riding.

The rodeo is at the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center in Lynden starting at 7:30 p.m. each night.
