Sammamish knocks off Corpus Christi at Little League World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa - Propelled by a four-run first inning, Eastlake of Sammamish downed Corpus Christi 8-to-4 in opening round pool play Thursday at the Little League World Series.  Jacob Dahlstrom drove in two runs and struck out 4 batters, while picking up the victory.

Jack Carper and Dalton Chandler each went 3-for-4 for Sammamish. Carper went deep with  a home run, while Chandler added a double and a triple and drove in a run.

Sammamish, the Northwest representative at the Little League World Series, moves on to play again Sunday versus the New England representative Westport, Connecticut, who beat Tennessee 3-to-2 Thursday.

Sunday’s game begins at 11am. It can be seen on ABC TV.
