BLAINE, Wash. – The Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine is re-opening today.

Coastal Hotel Group purchased the struggling facility in June and since then has given the 213 room resort a quick touch up.

Guests will notice new paint, extensive cleaning, and improved grounds maintenance.

People are already returning to the seaside retreat.

Over a third of the rooms are already booked for the first night.

The resort was shut down in December by the resorts previous owner, the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe, resulting in the loss of about 300 jobs.

About half of those jobs have been refilled.
