It was a very successful weekend for Whatcom County and Northwest Conference high school football teams, who enjoyed five victories and one loss.
On Thursday, Lummi trashed Evergreen Lutheran 44-12. Friday’s action had Lynden defeating Sultan 35-7, Sehome routing Lakewood 35-13, Sedro-Woolley beating up Lake Washington 48-13 and Blaine racing past Port Townsend 35-21. The lone loss was Ferndale falling to defending 3A state champion Bellevue 44-0. In the lone game on Saturday, Meridian shut out Charles Wright Academy 49-0.
Following the weekend, round of 16 match-ups have been set except for Lummi and Sedro-Woolley. In 2A, Lynden will face Kingston and Sehome will face Tumwater. In 1A, Blaine will face Tenino, Mount Baker will face Woodland and Meridian will face Cashmere.
The dates and times of the games are to be determined, except Mount Baker and Woodland. They will play on Saturday, November 16 at Civic Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
