MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Transportation department officials say emergency repairs to the I-5 bridge over the Skagit River are on schedule.
A section of the span collapsed on May 23 after a semi carrying an oversize and over-height load struck several overhead beams.
Construction crews have been working around the clock to get a temporary replacement section in place, and the current projected date for completion is June 19.
