Washington’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.8 percent in May.
The Employment Security Department says it’s the first time the jobless rate has been below 7 percent since November 2008.
The state had a net gain of 4,100 jobs last month, with government, education and health services, and leisure and hospitality seeing the most job growth.
Manufacturing, professional and business services and construction were among industries that had job losses in May.
