OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington’s online health insurance exchange is showing some brisk business.
Officials with the Washington Health Benefit Exchange say the last two business days have been the busiest days of traffic since the site opened in October.
The heavy traffic comes despite the site having some downtime yesterday as scheduled maintenance and the fix of a small glitch kept some customers away for a few hours.
Spokesperson Michael Marchand says it was back online at 9:00 in the morning.
People who started their application on the state site before midnight last night, have some extra time to complete it.
If someone doesn’t need insurance by January 1, they don’t have to worry about last night’s deadline.
People who complete the application they began by yesterday’s deadline and pay by January 15 will be covered retroactively to January 1.
