State’s air quality plan gets a revamp

KGMI News Reporting
By Karen Taylor

OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington Department of Ecology wants public opinion on proposed changes to the state’s plan for meeting air quality standards.

The proposed changes would replace old rule language, include new sections, remove outdated requirements and update references to federal requirements.

Ecology spokesperson Seth Preston says the plan spells out what the state does to address chemicals and pollutants in the air such as carbon monoxide and ozone, which are health concerns.
