Jacob Stevenson 27 points paced the Bellingham Slam to a 142-106 win over the Japan Tornadoes Sunday night in International Basketball League action at Pierce College in Lakewood. it’s the third time this year Bellingham has beaten the Tornadoes.
Seven players scored in double figures for the Slam, who improved their record to 12-and-2 on the year. Rico Wilkins added 23 points for Bellingham. Blake Poole recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
The Slam shot 58-percent from the field in the game and outscored Japan 31-to-14 in the second quarter to break open a close game. Marcus Bradford led the Tornadoes in scoring with 40 points.
