BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Healthcare students at Whatcom Community College are starting out the new school year in a new state-of-the-art building.
The new Health Professions Education Center at WCC opened for the first day of fall quarter classes yesterday.
Mary Vermillion with WCC says the new classrooms and lab spaces have been designed to replicate real-world medical offices and other healthcare environments.
Vermillion says nursing students will be practicing techniques on life-like mannequins in simulation labs that look like a real hospital room.
The building was completed in less than a year thanks to a public-private partnership.
