Teen killed in crash near Anacortes

METRO, KGMI News Reporting

ANACORTES, Wash. – Troopers say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that killed a 17-year-old and injured two other teens in Skagit County.

The Washington State Patrol says a car driven by a 53 year-old Oak Harbor man was traveling south on SR 20 near Anacortes Thursday when it crossed the center line and slammed into a vehicle driven by a teenage girl from Oak Harbor.

A 17-year-old girl who was a passenger in the second vehicle was killed.

The driver and an 18-year-old passenger were seriously hurt.

Troopers say the 53-year-old driver of the first vehicle showed signs of impairment.
