MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – A temporary replacement span on the collapsed Skagit River bridge in Mount Vernon is expected to open to traffic this week.
State transportation officials say the framework is already in place and construction crews expect to finish up work on the bridge sometime within the next few days.
Officials add they don’t know yet the exact day that the bridge will be ready.
Meanwhile, a permanent replacement for the bridge is on track to be completed this fall.
