KGMI News Reporting
By Karen Taylor

A man tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl in the Columbia neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to a release from the Bellingham Police Department.

Lieutenant Rick Sucee says a car stopped beside the girl around 1:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of Utter Street.

The girl says the male driver pointed what she assumed was a gun at her from beneath his sweatshirt. When he tried to order her to get into the car, she ignored him and ran home.

The man drove off in a forest green 4-door vehicle with tinted windows and a lot of mud on the lower part of the car.

The suspect is described as a man with a “tan” complexion wearing black sunglasses with lots of scratches on his arms.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bellingham Police at 360-676-6911.
