Thibault sets record as Mystics hold off Storm

Washington,  DC  (Sports Network) – The  Washington Mystics nearly blew an 18- point  lead but  held on to beat  the Seattle Storm, 62-59, to give head coach Mike Thibault his record-breaking
212th victory.

Crystal  Langhorne scored  12 points and Ivory Latta added 11 for the Mystics, who have won two in a row after losing five straight.

Saturday’s  win broke  a tie with Thibault and former Houston Comets coach Van Chancellor atop the WNBA all-time wins list for coaches.

Shekinna  Stricklen netted  a game-high 20 points for the Storm, but it wasn’t enough in the club’s fourth loss in five games.

The  Mystics scored the last nine points of the first quarter to race out to a 21-7  lead,  and they stayed comfortably  in front before the Storm rallied in the fourth quarter.
