VANCOUVER, B.C. – A British Columbia transportation expert thinks Canadians should pay a toll before crossing the border into Whatcom County.
Eric Doherty with Ecopath Planning says Canadians are crossing the border to avoid B.C. gas taxes.
A resident from Aldergrove, B.C. told the KGMI’s Morning Show that tolling B.C. highways wouldn’t make up for lost gas tax revenue.
He says a toll wouldn’t stop Canadians from crossing the border to get gas or shop in Whatcom County.
