BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Bellingham Fire Department says a Sunday tri-plex fire is now being called “suspicious” and Bellingham Police are helping in the investigation.
Assistant Fire Chief Bill Hewett says burned debris samples are being tested at the state’s crime lab.
Fire crews responded to the fire in the 800 block of Blueberry Lane on the south end of the Puget Neighborhood early Sunday morning.
They contained the flames to just one unit, but the fire caused smoke and water damage in two neighboring units.
Hewett says although the fire is being called “suspicious,” there does not appear to be any threat to the community.
