Troopers seek school bus and car crash witnesses

BIRCH BAY, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol is hoping to talk to more witnesses of a recent crash between a car and a school bus near Birch Bay.

The bus was packed with 40 middle school students when it was t-boned by a car at the intersection of Blaine Road and Alderson Road on the morning of October 3.

No students were injured, but the driver of the car, 38-year-old Austin Markusen of Ferndale was critically injured and his passenger was seriously injured.

Detectives have talked to five witnesses, but want to know if there are any others.
