When Terry Stotts took the coaching job in Portland before last season, he knew it might be his last chance at running a team.
Stotts had already been a head coach in Atlanta and Milwaukee. He lasted only two years at each stop before being fired. He knew he could be running out of opportunities to run the show.
He’s making the most out of his chance with the Trail Blazers.
Stotts’ wide-open offense and player-empowering approach has melded perfectly with a young, dynamic roster in his second year in Portland. The Blazers are 23-5 and have been one of the season’s biggest surprises.
Stotts says he feels like something special is building.
