Vandal damages windows at Ferndale police station

AP News

FERNDALE, Wash. – Authorities say a man vandalized the police station in Ferndale, causing up to $60,000 in damage.

The Bellingham Herald reports that police arrested 22-year-old Darrell Ryan Stacey for damage caused on Sunday.

He is accused of first-degree malicious mischief and second-degree burglary.

Ferndale Police Lt. Bill Hatchett says security footage shows a man using a small light post to break through the glass doors and into the station.

Authorities say the man then damaged more windows and the front desk.

Nothing was stolen, but officials estimate the damage at $45,000 to $60,000.
