OLYMPIA, Wash. – A state government shutdown won’t be happening, now that the Washington Legislature has come to an agreement on a $33.6 billion budget.
The spending plan will include an additional one-billion dollars for public schools, raising education spending for the next two years to $15.2 billion.
It would also add about $350,000 residents to Medicaid coverage.
The budget will go up for a final vote today.
