Wages flux in county

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County wages didn’t grow in the rain and sun of spring.

The average weekly wage dropped 1.5 percent compared to the same time a year earlier.

But the Bellingham Herald reports it may not signal a downturn in the economy.

A variety of factors led wages to a jump of 3.5 percent in 2012.

Compared to spring 2011, 2013 wages are up.
