WASHINTON STATE – Consumer financial services company Bankrate places Washington around the middle of the pack for expenses involved in owning a car.
Bankrate.com factors in repair costs, taxes and fees, fuel prices, and insurance rates in its state-by-state car-ownership cost list.
Washington is ranked the 18th-most expensive state for car ownership, with an average yearly cost of $3,377.
Georgia is listed as the most expensive, and Oregon is ranked the least expensive.
