Watering schedule helps conservation

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – People can help conserve water this summer by following a watering schedule for their lawn.

Anitra Acetturo with the City of Bellingham says it’s a voluntary program for the city and Whatcom County.

The Whatcom Water Alliance encourages people to water their lawns in the early morning before 10:00 a.m.

Homes with odd-numbered street addresses should water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Even-numbered street addresses should water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Monday is a day off from watering so the reservoirs have time to replenish after the weekend.
