UW Sports: Sooners beat Dawgs at WCWS/Men’s rowing wins national title

(Oklahoma City, OK)  –  Eleventh-seeded Washington was eliminated from the Women’s College World Series last night in a 6-2 loss to top-seeded Oklahoma. Lauren Chamberlain and Keilani Ricketts homered for top-seeded Oklahoma to reach the finals of the Women’s College World Series.

The Sooners and Tennessee will open the best-of-3 finals series Monday.

The Lady Huskies had beaten Michigan to advance that far.  Oklahoma advances to play Tennessee in the championship series.

 

UW Wins Crew National Title

(Gold River, CA)  –  The Washington men’s rowing varsity eight crew raced past Harvard to win its third straight college rowing national title Sunday.  The Huskies have won all five grand finals.  None of the five Husky crews lost a race over the three days of the championships.
