Women’s basketball: WWU rolls over Quest in exhibtion

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Guard Taylor Peacocke  came off the bench to score a game-high 21 points and center Sarah Hill  had a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds as Western Washington University rolled to a 90-58 victory over Quest University in an exhibition women’s basketball game Saturday, Nov. 2, at Sam Carver Gymnasium on the WWU campus.

The Vikings, ranked No.6 in the USA Today/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division II Top 25, also got 12 points from reserve guard Aleisha Hathaway .

Quest, located in Squamish, B.C., was led by forward Mariam Baumann with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Abbey Piazza scored 12 points for the Kermodes and Aimee Johnston had 10.

WWU opens its regular season at the West Region Crossover Classic, meeting host Fresno Pacific on Friday, Nov.8 (5:30 p.m.) and Humboldt State on Saturday, Nov. 9 (5:30 p.m.).
