BURLINGTON, Wash. – While one of their demands was met, farm workers from a Skagit County farm said Saturday that they would continue their strike.
More than 200 farm workers at Sakuma Brothers Farm walked off the job Thursday to protest the firing of a co-worker who complained about wages.
They are also demanding higher pay and breaks during the workday.
The fired worker was reinstated on Friday, but farm owner Steve Sakuma says the wage increase is something the farm can’t handle financially.
